HR and industrial relations support in Springs and Gauteng
An allocated consultant for labour advice, on site or remotely — from a policy review to a strike on your doorstep.

Shades of Blue provides outsourced HR and industrial relations: labour audits, policy reviews, disciplinary and dispute management, union negotiations, strike support and Basic Conditions of Employment Act compliance.
What is included
- Allocated consultant, remote and on-site
- Labour audit and review of documents, policies and procedures
- Annual compliance review
- Disciplinary hearings, dispute and conflict management
- Collective bargaining and collective agreements
- Union recognition agreements and wage negotiations
- Strike management and support
- Basic Conditions of Employment Act compliance
Start with a labour audit
We review your contracts, policies and procedures against current labour legislation and tell you plainly what would not survive a CCMA referral. After that, an annual review keeps them compliant as the law and your business change.
When it gets difficult
Our consultants attend on site for disciplinary hearings, grievances, collective bargaining, union recognition and wage negotiations, and strike management — so line managers can keep running the operation.
Who uses this service
Owner-managed businesses without an HR department, Factories with organised labour, Contractors managing site teams.
How it works
Tell us the role
Trade, number of people, site, shift pattern and start date. A phone call is enough.
We shortlist and screen
Candidates are sourced, interviewed and reference-checked against your site requirements.
On site, on our payroll
Contracts, induction paperwork, payslips, UIF and COID are ours to carry.
Ongoing support
An allocated consultant handles queries, discipline and disputes, on site or remotely.
Questions we get asked
Can you chair disciplinary hearings?
Yes. An independent chairperson reduces the risk of a procedurally unfair dismissal finding at the CCMA.
Is this only for workers you supply?
No. HR and IR support is available to any business, whether or not it uses our labour.
What does labour hire cost per worker?
It depends on the trade, the hours, the shift pattern and how long the placement runs. We quote a rate per person per hour or per month that already includes our payroll, UIF and COID costs, so there are no extras later. Tell us the role and we will send a written quote.
Who is the employer — you or us?
Shades of Blue is the employer of record. The worker is on our payroll and our COID cover; you direct the work on site. This is how a temporary employment service works under the Labour Relations Act.
Have we worked for you?
A few honest sentences or a 90-second video help the next buyer decide. Nothing appears here until we have confirmed it with you.
