What steel structure fabrication involves

Structural fabrication turns sections, tube and plate into a finished, load-bearing product: cutting to length, bending, welding, weld inspection and finishing. A practical understanding of the steel and of how the piece will be used is what makes a structure economical and fit for purpose.

Our workshop is equipped for cutting, bending and welding, with access to laser cutting and CNC bending through industry partners. The best way to judge any fabricator is their finished work — the shelters below were built in our workshop and installed by our team.

How it works

Site measure
We come out, measure, photograph and talk through how the piece will be used.
Drawing and quote
A sketch or drawing with sizes, materials and finish, with a fixed written quote.
Fabrication
Cut, weld, clean and paint in our Springs workshop, with an inspection before dispatch.
Installation
Delivered and installed by our own team, then signed off with you on site.

Questions we get asked

What size of structure can you build?

We focus on light and medium structures — shelters, frames, stands, platforms and mezzanines. For heavy structural steel we will tell you upfront if the job should go to a larger shop.

Do you need an engineer's drawing?

For load-bearing structures such as mezzanines and platforms, an engineer's design is required, and we can arrange one. Simple frames and shelters can be built from our own measured drawings.

Do you work from drawings?

Yes. Send engineer's or architect's drawings and we quote from them. If you have none, we measure on site and prepare a working sketch for your approval before cutting steel.

Can you galvanise?

We fabricate for galvanising and arrange hot-dip galvanising through a galvanising plant when it is specified. Otherwise steel is primed and painted to your colour.
